The flat earth theory believes that we are not a sphere. The earth is a flat plane with an Antarctic ice wall that encloses us. This theory is supported through the Bedford level experiment that found that the earth does not have a curve. Looking through a telescope on one side of a long river, a boat sailed out and was able to be seen miles away. If the earth was a globe, the boat should have disappeared.
This theory begs some questions that can be answered. First, why have we not fallen off the edge of the earth? This is because of the ice wall that surrounds us. The government does not let people get close enough to see the wall fully enclosing us. People can explore Antarctica, but only small sections with people watching them. Second, how do we experience seasons if we are not rotating on a globe? The sun spins around the earth and we experience seasons as the sun comes closer and farther. Third, what about gravity? Gravity is a hoax! There is nothing pulling us down to the earth. The earth and the sun are constantly moving upward which is keeping us connected. Seasons can be hotter or colder depending on the differences in speed of the sun and earth (which changes the distance). Fourth, what about the photographs that show the earth is a globe? We cannot trust photos because they can easily be photoshopped and changed. Also, we cannot trust NASA because they already lied to us about the moon landing, so why wouldn’t they lie to us about the shape of the earth!
The government has so much motivation to make us believe the earth is round. They want us to believe that we are just a rock hurtling through space because they want us to believe that we are meaningless and powerless. It makes it easier for them to control us. Once we realize that we are not just a rock hurtling through space, we can take our power back and realize that we are so much more significant that just creatures that randomly evolved. The government wants to call us crazy and discredit our belief, but that is to have more control over us. We must continue to flood the internet with information that supports the flat earth theory and stop considering it a conspiracy. We cannot continue to put all our trust in the government and stand up for what we believe.

The debate about the Earth being flat has been on since the start of humanity, but Charles Kenneth Johnson was a figure that moved along intellect to our theory. Johnson was a celebrity for his refusal of the Earth being a sphere in the 1970s and ‘80s. But his work alongside good friend, Samuel Shenton, started in the 1950s when they initiated the Flat Earth Society. After Shenton passed away in 1972, Johnson became president of the society and expanded the group from a small collection of conspiracy theorists to an organization of 3,500 members.
Johnson heavily emphasized on the moon landing being a hoax and, how the sunrise and sunset are optical illusions. His biggest effort was to show the public that scientists are exploiting their knowledge and give us false data to support their many findings. After Johnson’s death the organization took a toll and dwindled down to 100 members.
The Flat Earth Society after many decades was revived by Daniel Shenton in 2004 but new members weren’t allowed until 2009. This group expanded until 2013 when a dissatisfied group within split away to launch their own site about the ideal. Reunification for the groups was called in 2014 but the concept withered away and Shenton’s twitter went cold. Since then there has been an uprising of the flat-earthers fighting for the truth.
